To synchronise AMPAREX calendar(s) with a smartphone, the following must be set up first.


Allow for calendar synchronisation.

Please go to the >>Organiser >>Administration >>Resources and choose the resource you want to synchronise with your smartphone.

Mark the chosen resource as >>Allow for calendar synchronisation and save the changes.

Please note

If this resource was previously synchronised with the Google Calendar this must be deleted in order for CalDAV to work.



Assign service access data for CalDAV synchronisation.

In the >>Branch office management module you would need to add the service access data in order to synchronise the diaries between AMPAREX organiser and your smartphone.

Go to the >>Branch office management >> Service access data and create a new entry hitting the >>New button.

Select the >>Access Type >>Individual user/password and select the user.

Enter a user name for the below entry. It must be unique. It will be needed to set up the CalDAV account on your smartphone.

Hint

After saving, the user name can not be changed. Should you need to change it, the entry must be deleted and created again.

Optionally you can also specify a duration a user is allowed to access this service.

If a local resource (a fitting room) is to be synchronised, it is recommended to create a dummy employee and a dummy user with a restricted access to the >>Organiser only.

Typically when setting up you’d select your branch you mainly work from. This entry is required to be able to synchronise new appointments, which you may create on your smartphone, with your AMPAREX diary.

Under >>Service class select the entry >>CalDAV appointment synchronization. The option >>Confirmed, as long as it’s checked, indicates that the settings are correct and the synchronisation ready to be used.

Hint

If the checkbox is not set, the service can not be used by the registered user.

You would also need to assign a password for the newly created service hitting the >>Set new password button. The same password will be required for setting CalDAV account on your smartphone.

Hint

The password can also be assigned by the system administrator. However, users should change it themselves asap through >> My AMPAREX >> Administration >> Service access data.



CalDAV access URL.

The >>Resource Specific URL button (1) will provide you with the actual URL needed to set up the CalDAV account on your smartphone.

To do this, select the corresponding resource for which the appointments coming from AMPAREX diary should be later synchronised in your smartphone calendar..

If you have selected the appropriate resource, the underlying URL will configure itself automatically. You can forward this URL per e-mail or SMS to your smartphone (alternatively, the URL must be typed into the CalDAV account manually).

The connection can be tested using the>>Test button. If an error should occur, a corresponding note will appear behind the button (e.g. a missing password).
